Verse of the day
And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
This is a part of the story of a woman who approached Jesus for the healing of her daughter who was possessed by an unclean spirit. A very interesting conversation ensued between them both with Jesus declaring that her request was the birthright of children (Israelites at the time of the conversation) and not dogs. She was one who’d hardly take no for an answer, a good example of one who believes, who is importunate in prayers, and her response, seen in the verse above reflects that.
Despite being a good example of importunate prayers to everyone and even we the children in the kingdom, the Syrophenician woman is not our perfect example. Presently, there are things which we request, receive and regard as perfect blessings from the Lord, as children, which are only at par with the crumbs which fall from the table and are consumed by dogs. By focusing on these substances, we desire too little, way below the things of the Kingdom which the Father has made available to us – the bread in itself. We are children of a Father who has given us much more than the sun which shines on the just and the unjust but has given us the Sun which shines on the path of the just only. We must exercise ourselves to see as He sees us then we will know the depth of provisions gifts and blessed responsibilities) we have in Him.
Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.
We can ask and receive of Him to the tune of what it takes to see His kingdom reign supreme in our lives, and then in the world around us. Puppies are beautiful, but we are children, not puppies.

Daddy, I am Your child, a subject and not an object of Your dealings. I am enlightened this day to see the things that you have prepared for me. Thank You, Jesus.
