Verse of the day
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God.
When God does something spectacular, it’s hard to hide it. People can see it, and if they don’t we make sure they notice. Something like that isn’t one you keep to yourself. It isn’t something you can hide. This is what happened to the leper in our text. He glorified God with a loud voice. He didn’t care who was looking. As a matter of fact, he didn’t care that they would stare and whisper. He wasn’t a leper anymore. His life had changed for good.
And one of them…
Ten people had called out but only one returned to thank Jesus. Many pray, but not all return to give thanks. We can easily get carried away when our prayers get answered, but we must give our best to live a life of constant thanksgiving and praise, not with words alone but daily actions, for being redeemed by Christ is, in itself, something we must be forever thankful for.
Audacious thanksgiving and praise might mean that you stop in your tracks and thank God from deep down in your heart. Other times, you can be a little more expressive: laugh, sing, twirl, kneel, dance, lay down flat, lift or wave your hands, even on a public street. Whatever you do, rising from deep within your spirit, must be done like God’s the only One listening and watching. And you must be led by Him in showing your gratitude to Him.

All of life is a miracle. So even on days when you can’t find something extraordinary to thank God for, thank Him for the miracle of being physically alive, and that of being saved and alive in Him.
Everything else, good or bad, pales in comparison to how good God is and how loving He has been.
Perhaps things aren’t going so well. Still, praise. Our text says “…when he saw he was healed…”. The problem isn’t what God is or isn’t doing. The problem is what you’re seeing.
A Special Place in God’s Heart
Although that was never his intention, the one leper who returned caught more of Jesus’ attention than they all had. It is worthy of note that those who always return to give God thanks and acknowledge His power, love, mercy, grace and, supplies in their lives will always have a special place in His heart.

Father, I thank You for all the great things You’ve done in my life. I am where I am, and who I am by your Grace. And by this same grace, I focus on You and give You praise always.
