Verse of the day.
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Creation through God’s light
A primary ingredient in God’s creation of the world was speech. Deliberate speech. God decreed light, and there was bright, purposeful light. This light was meant to set forth God’s process of creating earth from the formless, darkness-filled void that it was. And this was achieved. For the perfect Judge saw this light, approved of it and caused it to stand alone, immiscible with darkness, representative of the life of God: for God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
Recreation through God’s light
Like it was in creation, so it is in the recreation (of man). Man’s natural state is aptly represented by the formless, darkness-filled void of the earth that existed before creation. This would only appear different to you if you failed to see from God’s point of view. For being dead in our spirits, it was impossible for us to know, serve or be requested to serve God, Who must be worshipped in spirit and truth.
Thus, at the new birth: the recreation of man, speech is again a most significant ingredient. Purposeful speech. Speech that doesn’t fall to the ground but accomplishes what it is meant for.

God, who commands light to shine out of the darkness – as He did in the first creation – shines in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. This light causes an unbeliever to see, recognize and accept Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of the whole world.
This sets forth the process of recreation, granting us spiritual form, and purpose with the chief aim of making us just like God.
Sharing God’s light.
Now, with the light of God shining in our hearts, we can serve and worship God accordingly. And as co-creators and colabourers with Him, we are saddled with the responsibility of speaking this light – which is the Word of Truth seen in the face of Jesus – into the hearts of those we are blessed to interact with. For God loves all men, and it is His desire that His light shines in every heart and causes all to know and become just like Him.

Dear heavenly Father, thank You for shining Your light in my heart. Help me to constantly behold this light that is You that I may walk in Your fullness and all Your desires and boldly call men into the same. Amen.
