Verse of the day.
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
When a person comes headlong with the glory of God, everything changes. This is because God’s glory demands to be loved, for no one can see the beauty of Him with an unveiled face and not be awed and changed by it. It is a sight we’d want to see more of and even much more when we can reveal it to others.
Our verse for today is a culmination from verse 23 where Apostle Paul was speaking on eating food sacrificed to idols. He primarily gave the verdict that eating these things are not unlawful but it should be avoided if it hurts someone else. Then he went on to say that our eating, drinking and in fact everything we do should be done for God’s glory.
We do things not because they are morally right or socially acceptable; not because we want to make a point or draw attention to ourselves, but for God’s glory. In fact, we will sometimes not do things, not because they are unlawful, but because God has to be glorified in and through us.

The glory of God is a big deal. It is not an “I may or may not” but is the reality of our lives and eternity. Therefore, anything that isn’t done for God’s glory can never be good enough. It doesn’t matter that we simply do it or how big and highly accepted that thing is. Yet how can we draw people to a glory we do not behold, see, bask in, love, seek and live for? How can our actions, thoughts, motivations, speech and desires glorify God when we don’t know His glory or love it?
We should pray like the Apostle Paul to see more clearly (Ephesians 1:17-21) for then we will know that nothing is too hard to give, give up or do for God’s glory.

Lord, open my eyes to see Your glory more clearly. Help me behold Your glory that it may be reflected in all I do.
