Inevitability Of Purpose.

Day 20
Verse of the day.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.

Jeremiah 1:5

A candle is meant for light, a pen to write, a pair of glasses to improve sight. We, humans, made these things. If they, made by us, could have such specific purposes for their making, how much more the things God created? If the shining of the sun, falling of rain, flowing of air, and sprouting of fruits fulfill purposes, isn’t there a purpose to your living? You who is fearfully and wonderfully made? (Psalms 139:14)

Before I formed you…

No man plans better than God. The plans for Jesus, the Lamb meant for the redemption of mankind was put in place from the foundation (beginning) of the world (Revelation 13:8) – only to be made manifest in flesh after several millennia. God declares Jeremiah to have had life and purpose even while in his mother’s womb. There is no exception to you. God had (still has) a plan for you, and every other created thing – before you came to life. This often sounds far-fetched because we compare the mind of God to the human mind. How possible can it be? we think, How can there be individual purposes to 7.6billion lives? So often we rush into life, living off our individual strengths, lights, and passions, paying little attention to the most critical question, why was I made?

Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you…

The purpose of God for you is hardly about what you want. It is not reflected in your desire to live a life that benefits others, neither is it found in chasing an engagement, a life that brings you happiness. The purpose of God for you is always about His will, His pleasure, (Revelations 4:11), which only becomes your pleasure when you choose to become one with Him, in the life of your spirit, the desires of your soul, the actions of your body.

You’ll find true purpose and fulfillment when you put an end to the practice of living by your light, strength, and, passion, and choose to live by God’s Light, Strength, and Passion.

Today’s Prayer

Help me to know You, the only true God, and Jesus, whom You have sent (John 17:3), that I may be one with You in spirit, soul, and body, and I may find true purpose, and fulfillment in You.
