Verse of the day.
Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle.
There is something essentially beautiful about light; it reveals. Light neither hides lies nor keeps back the truth. No wonder the Psalmist prayed for light and truth in one breath; because both go together. There is no light without truth and no truth without light.
God is light; in Him, there is no darkness at all.
When we come to God, we come into Light and Truth. We see as He sees, and walk as He walks. Besides God’s light, we cannot come into His holy hill. Where light is, there He dwells; where truth lives, there we find Him. Therefore, when God desires to carry out a work in our lives, when He desires to draw us to Himself, He sends Light and Truth.
God first spoke Light into being before going on to create things He would look at, nod and say, “It is good.”
Light and truth do not often come as lightning flashes and thunderclaps. They often come in small conversations, little texts, daily ‘coincidences’, simple scripture, quiet intuitions and all such seemingly small places. But only a heart that seeks, and is willing to be led by them, sees, yields and is brought into the Lord’s holy hill.
Sometimes they will draw a laugh from us because of the beauty we see and other times, they will hurt because they force us to expose things we will rather keep hidden. But our hearts must daily cry for Light and Truth no matter how overwhelming, insignificant or humbling they may be. We can only truly come into God when we find Light and embrace Truth. When we come to God, we come into Light and Truth. We see as He sees, and walk as He walks.
Lord, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle. Help me to see and yield to them today.
