Verse of the day
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
God is Light. And as many who receive Him receive His light. In you resides the shining fiery Holy Spirit, if you have received Christ. This presence of the Holy Spirit in us is the source of that light.
The ability to shine is not reserved for specific people in God’s kingdom; it doesn’t matter how short or long a period you have spent in walking with Christ. If you are in Him, His light resides in you and you have the potential to shine.
Let your light shine…
When a believer isn’t found shining his light, this reality can only be faulted on the believer, not God.
Jesus’ words indicate your place in letting your light shine. Your light is lively, ready to shine; it is only natural that it shines. You must, therefore, free it up to serve its purpose – to shine before people.
People are all around you. Just like you, some are possessors of light. Others live in and with total darkness. You must identify your responsibility towards each group and fulfill it.

Your light is tangible. It can be expressed. It isn’t an abstract idea. People more see your good works. This good is not defined by your standard or the standard of men. This good work is defined by the Father who is Good.
In shining your light, men should see the attributes of God in you: love, compassion, humility, joy, peace, gentleness, and lowliness of heart, hatred for sin, love for righteousness. Your light can also heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Do not regard yourself as not being strong enough for the ills of the world. You are. You are enough. Your light matters. It becomes better when you unite with other lights you find to shine an even brighter light. This how it works.
The shining of your light doesn’t qualify you for heaven. No, you are not seeking a place in heaven by shining your light. You are already in heaven. The shining of your light is you expressing the heaven-life you have here on earth. This leads men to glorify your Father who is in the same heaven.
Glorifying your Father does not imply singing Hallelujah to Him. When people glorify your Father, they acknowledge Him, submit to Him, and receive Him as God.
Do not regard yourself as not being strong enough for the ills of the world. You are. You are enough. Your light matters. It becomes better when you unite with other lights you find to shine an even brighter light.Click To Tweet
