Verse of the day
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
We never hit the right targets by looking at the wrong places. Our aim is not only to become more like Christ Jesus but to become one with Him. We will however never attain the fullness of His Person by looking anywhere else but TO HIM.
Paul the Apostle explains most beautifully what it means to have given your life to Christ (that is, to be born again). We have been crucified with Christ and the Life we now live, is in and through God’s Son (Galatians 2:20). Everyday becomes this wonderful experience where we come to understand more clearly what it means to be dead to the world, dead to sin and dead to flesh.
So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you.

The techniques used in archery provides for us a picture which helps us understand the importance of focus in this life of faith. Trying to hit a “bull’s eye”, the archer must aim – whilst drawing the arrow and anchoring it – with precision. This cannot be done if he looks away or is distracted while trying to “measure” his actions.
The archer succeeds not just because of his skill, but because of his concentration; and both are developed through practice. If we are serious about living this new life, we will focus on and follow Jesus’ example, “who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross” and the suffering and shame that came with it (Hebrews 12:1).
Living a New Consciousness
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
Colossians 3:1 (The Living Bible)
Psalm 121 is a wonderful prayer to keep dear to our hearts. Remember always where your help comes from, Who the Source and Sustainer of this Life is, and keep your eyes on Him. This isn’t always easy to do, but with practice, just like the archer, you will find that no matter what might be happening around you, you can lift your eyes.

Father, I receive this day the grace to set my sights on the rich treasures and joys of heaven where Your Son Jesus sits on Your right hand.
