Verse of the day.
‘The Lord your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.’
Sometimes we do not take time out to listen to God. And when sometimes we do, we listen and speak at the same time because sometimes we feel that we always have to be saying something to God. But the problem is if you try to listen and speak at the same time, you will not hear Him well. You may miss some keywords.

This is one of the reasons we continue to ask God for things He has already given us. Instead of receiving them with thanksgiving, we continue to ask. We continue to strive even when the Lord has already given us rest and already given us what we have been praying for.
God is always speaking, even in silence, stillness, quietness. Listening to God should be practiced daily, first thing in the morning – continuing in the day, even at night when you sleep. Hear God speak and write down everything He tells you. God will tell you how your day should go and what you ought to do in order for you to walk in His will for your life that day. When God gives us rest and land to possess, He expects us to give Him our ears so as to receive clear instructions on how to possess and keep such lands. These lands may not necessarily be physical locations. They may be a group of people, an age class, people He has given us as a responsibility. Nobody can do God’s work or walk successfully in God’s promises by himself.
Listening to God is one of the greatest gifts we can give to Him. When we listen to Him, we gradually tap into His timelessness and see both short-term and long-term, just as He sees. Let’s make listening to God a habit as we step into the new month.

Help me, Father, to fully give you the ears of my spirit, the ears of my heart, that I may listen, hear and walk according to the things you say and not the way I think.
