Verse of the day.
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
The flesh is a master of none and a master of all. It is a master of all to those who live by the flesh and a master of none to those who are sons and daughters of God who live in the spirit of God.
Jesus died to redeem us and make us no longer slaves to sin (2 Corinthians 5:14). The new birth in Christ is an opportunity to experience newness of life and complete freedom from sin. Your conversion, if true, should bring you to a regenerated place where your spirit longs for newness.
Yes, we live on earth and as a result, we are prone to see earthly things and possibly be enticed by them but our new man has to repel these things. When you die in the flesh, even though alive in real time, you become alive in Christ, driven by the things of the spirit. You must live the rest of your time on earth driven by Heavenly goals and motivations.

It is possible for believers to want to conform to earthly desires, especially when they are yet to identify with who and whose they are. These earthly desires are pleasing to the carnal believer and easily ensnares some but having been united with Him, we ought to avoid such things as displease.
We will be mocked by the world for the choices we make but we will be applauded by God… and that’s all that counts (1 Peter 4:13-14). When you care about what people think, you become a slave to their desires and wishes and why would you choose to be a slave when Jesus gave you freedom?
Jesus chose the cross. We are not going to delude ourselves and call the harrowing experience of Jesus’ death pleasurable because it was anything but it. But it was that experience that gave us life and brought us from damnation making us free from sin and death.
You are set apart for the glory of God. Undeserving of the sacrifice of God for us at Calvary, He still went all the way for us. You are free from the slavery that the ‘world’ wants you in. In Christ is true freedom and satisfaction. Enjoy this today.

Father, now Your child, I am no longer a slave to the flesh, to sin, and to death.
