Verse of the day.
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
The Holy Spirit is special; His place, most significant.
When Jesus physically walked the earth, He was that singular Light. With His death, resurrection and ascension came the Holy Spirit. With Jesus as one man on the earth, His physical influence appeared limited, but (with us) the Holy Spirit is everywhere for He is in us.
Why is the Spirit of Truth Here?
Truth sets us free. The Holy Spirit guiding us into ALL truth liberates us. He does this partly by convicting us of sins and leading us to repentance. During Jesus’ life on earth, there was the particular case of the adulterous woman who was to be stoned to death. Jesus was present at the time to convict as well as save her BUT imagine how many other adulterous men and women were in the same moment subject to judgment, maybe not of the Pharisees but of themselves. The Holy Spirit came so that He might be present in our hearts and mind at all times.
