Verse of the day.
For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.
We are often too concerned about people’s opinions of us. We consider what they’ll say about us, how they’ll feel about us, how they’ll react to our actions, or belittle our inactions. We are tempted to live for their approval, seeking their validation as we live. They could be friends, family, colleagues, spiritual leaders, even strangers.
Being this careful of men’s opinion about us often affects how we live, preventing us from acting or reacting in certain situations like we would. It is worse when it affects our walk with God. For in such cases we seem to weigh His place in our lives against that of Man.
Jesus is the Anointed One, the Christ, He should never be compared to another in our lives.
Sometimes, we make these comparisons in our subconscious. Without even thinking, we make decisions that please others above Christ – thus reflecting how ashamed to bear His name we are. Therefore, having received His Life and Light, we must feed on His word and cause it to dwell in our hearts until it forms our subconscious and when we are moved to make hasty decisions, we act in favour of Christ and His Word.

Our walk with Jesus WILL cause us to live different from the world, to take stands alone because we are citizens of a different kingdom and civilization. When this happens, we must never deny Him by our actions.
In our intimate walk with Jesus, He will reveal personal things to us that even our direct spiritual leaders may not subscribe to. We must also never be ashamed of Him in such cases.
We must learn to reject self-consciousness in our walk with God, for it is what causes us to deny Christ with our actions. By it, we are ashamed of Him. Remember, if we must follow Jesus as we live, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross (each day) and follow Him (Mark 8:34).

Thank You, Jesus, for the instruction in Your Word. I lay down my life before You this day, to do with it as You please. I am Yours as You are mine and will boldly show You to the world.
