Verse of the day.
“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her.
Pain is uncomfortable. It is not a place that anyone wants to be but sometimes, such situations arise in a person’s life. It is also the first step towards healing and restoration.
Pain is akin to the wilderness as our verse for today suggests. God’s people had turned away from Him to other gods and invested themselves into idolatry. In the modern day, idolatry isn’t only in carving images. It is in putting other things before God. It could be your job, your kids, husband, wife, obsessions etc. as long as they compete with Christ in your life, they are idols.
It is interesting also to know that we tend to face and accept truth more from a place of pain (Psalm 51:8) because we are often helpless in such cases and are pushed to seek our only true Help – God. He should be our first option, not our last resort. Placing God as your last resort denies you of the privilege of truly enjoying God as Father. Yes, we may argue that His love and mercies endure but can we continue to sin so Grace abounds? (Romans 6:1-2)

God often uses our negative experiences to endear us back to Him. At your lowest points, He is always there (Psalm 34:18). He is ever ready to set you up nicely after these experiences.
God already redeemed us through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ and His work of salvation is present to bring us to a place of eternal rest. However, you need to surrender to Him and be ready to love Him with your Heart. (Hosea 2:16)
Pain can be a blessing in disguise. A wilderness – a place with rarely any distractions – provides an opportunity for you to seek God with greater focus.

Lord, if I need to be in the wilderness to be in tune with You, please lead me there.
