Verse of the day.
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.
Having been made right with God, we are called to confront the power of darkness that tries to hinder our discovering new depths in our relationship with Him, as well as from reconciling others to Him (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Consequently, there will always come times when we feel drained, weary, vanquished, incapable, just ‘not enough’.
I have learned never to say the words ‘kingdom of darkness’. There is no such thing. “You must never address the devil and his agents as the ‘kingdom of darkness’. Doing this would make him out to be a rival, a worthy adversary, a being who can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with God. The devil is no king. He has no kingdom.”
Where This ‘Ministry’ Begins
We do not war against a physical enemy, nor are our weapons those which are handled in the seen realm (Ephesians 6:10-12, 2 Corinthians 10:3-4). Before we can become effective ministers of the New Covenant, ‘handlers’ of the Word of Truth, Faith and Life, causing others to come to the true knowledge of God, we must through the help of the Holy Spirit tear down these ‘obstacles’ IN us, before He can tear down obstacles through us.

The Source of Our Confidence
Our confidence isn’t in our human abilities. Not even in the spiritual gifts we have, but in the Great One Who is Himself in us, with us and for us. All other things might be helpful and indeed important, but God is central. We cannot rely on our own understanding but are to trust in God and acknowledge Him in all we do (Proverbs 3:5-6). For most, this will mean putting their experiences, talents or knowledge aside and seeking God (first and only) as our Source of Strength and Wisdom.
The Score Sheet
Be encouraged in this saying, Beloved, that Christ only is your standard.
God is incredibly detailed in how He wants things done. Sometimes He will require us to go through a series of processes before He can release us on an assignment. Other times, He will thrust us into places where we are left feeling unprepared and undeserving. At such times, rest assured He is working in as well as through you. It is His Master Plan. Trust Him. Our qualification, commendation, and reward can come from no other, except the One Whose work this, the same One Who called us.
