Verse of the day
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
The strength of faith is measurable. It is one thing to have faith in God and yet another to have strong faith in Him. When God gives you a promise, you would often encounter challenges on your way to receiving the promise, and often, strong faith is required to scale through this.
Every promise God gives comes with a waiting period. This is the period between when the promise is received and when it is fulfillment. Sometimes, it is as short as a second, other times as long as a lifetime. The strength of Abraham’s faith sustained him through his waiting period for the promise of Isaac. And so will yours.
When your faith is strong, it endures the challenges you encounter while you wait to receive the promise. Even when situations and circumstances appear to negate the promise, you count Him faithful who has promised.

In the Gospels, Jesus talked about having a faith as small as a mustard seed to move a mountain. This little faith does not pass for a weak faith. Your faith can be little yet strong.
Abraham’s body was considered dead, unproductive, considering his age. Sarah his wife also had difficulty in conception because of the deadness to her womb. They, however, did not consider these things. Their faith was so strong that though it was past the natural time to have a child, they believed God’s promise, paying little consideration to the surrounding circumstances and received the promise.
God has promised (and given) us all things that pertain to life and godliness. Our knowledge of these and faith to receive are needful to experience them. We strengthen our faith when we keep our eyes on Him and away from our challenges; when we hear and believe His Word over the lies of the evil one.

Jesus, I have seen you do the impossible. I believe your every word, with my faith being strengthened as I focus on You over my circumstances.
