Verse of the day
Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person
There is a lack of wisdom that comes with comparing one’s self with others. It hardly ever ends well. When you come away feeling like the ‘better’ of the parties being compared, you come away with a sense of pride nowhere near being divine. But when, on the other hand, you come away feeling the less of the two, you become susceptible to seeing yourself not being enough. But none of this would be necessary if you saw yourself for who you truly are.
Picture this: you are a member of the body of Christ. This is the same Christ that you would agree with me is beautiful beyond description. He is the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person. Doesn’t it amaze you that you, along with other believers, are the body of Christ who is so beautiful that words cannot describe? Do you not see how wonderfully created you are in redemption? In calling you, His love, the lily among thorns, He hopes that you would realize how precious you are to Him and should be to yourself. An understanding of this truth helps you realize that no seeming abundance or deficiency in some physical attribute matters more than the truth that as Christ is, so are you in this world.
If you believe Christ to be the bright and morning Star and the express image of the Father, and if you have received Him into your life and have thus become one with Him, then know for sure that you are a treasure, a bearer of weights of glory, beauty and virtue and that you are enough in Him.

Christ, You are the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person, and you live in me. Therefore, I, in being one with You, am the expression of Your supernatural glory, beauty, and virtue because I am as You are in this world!
