Verse of the day:
Who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.
The Apostle John bore witness to and testified of God’s Word. He was not the only one who bore witness to the word. Scriptures reveal other men and women who were faithful witnesses to the truth.
As exemplified by these men and women, it is also our responsibility to bear witness to Jesus Christ. Every child in God’s family has been called to be witnesses to Christ. In fact, Jesus Himself also told us, that we have been given the power to be His witnesses to all the world! Our testimonies serve to convince others of the reality of His existence and love towards mankind. As witnesses, we testify only to what we have seen, heard and experienced.
The Holy Spirit is with us to teach us more and more about Jesus and to continually remind us of Jesus’ words. Even so, He does not stop there. He helps us as we witness about Jesus. Jesus also told us not to worry about what we should say when we are being called to be His witnesses, but to trust that the Holy Spirit will give us the right words to say when we need them!
Beloved, continue to yield to the Holy Spirit. He not only makes Jesus known to you, He makes Jesus known through you! To be a faithful and effective witness, continue to listen to the Holy Spirit as He teaches you, and obey His promptings as He leads you.
