Verse of the day
When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
You may already know that Jesus died and resurrected to bring you forgiveness of sins, access to God, and Life. Your salvation started, for you, a journey into the fullness of God, a journey which every believer in Christ has been signed up for. This journey into God is not a jolly sweet ride, but like every journey with a fulfilling end, it is one with many challenges, hinderances, distractions that would steal your focus and either prevent or delay your journey towards your desired end.
God has given you all things that pertain to life and godliness, and if anyone prevents you from receiving these, it is not the devil, for you have been exalted above him in redemption, it is not some enemy near or far away; your greatest distraction to receiving all that God has given you is you. You are your greatest enemy. Every other distraction to your growth in God depends on how much peace you have made with yourself.
When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him…
When you learn to live by faith, to live by what God says of you and not what you think of yourself, you please Him. You are not a sinner, you are not powerless over sin, lusts and the devil, you are loved, you are righteous, you are special in the eyes of God. Believing and living by these can only lead to you pleasing God. This would also cause you to be led in obedience by the Spirit, and when this happens, you’ll find that you will be at peace with yourself; your flesh (your personal greatest enemy) will become more at peace and more subject and thus a friend to your spirit.
