Verse of the day
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.
God’s gift of redemption gives us a partaking of the nature of the Father. Along with it comes the power to enter fully into God’s purpose for our lives, namely the life of Christ.
The book of John tells us that God gave to those who believe in Jesus the power to become the Sons of God.
The Spirit is this power, He is God’s strength in us which helps us become His sons. To “become” sons is to allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit.
“For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” (Amp)
This is something we have to allow ourselves be made into. It is a process. And it is good to note that it says “they are the Sons of God.” Not they will be. But they are. Our obedience and submission to the leading and guidance of the Spirit not only makes us but confirms us as sons.
We don’t become sons of God by following our feelings, ideas and intuitions but by submitting to the One who knows the pathway of Sonship that we become. This same Spirit taught Christ to walk pleasingly before the Father. It is He who knows the very heart of the Father and searches the deep things of this heart which He reveals to us. Why don’t you allow Him lead you?
Sometimes, His leading may not look so “rational”; most times, it will call us to do things that may seem difficult but in all, we have to remember that He is the eternal Spirit who will lead us nowhere but the Father’s heart.
