Verse of the day
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
The Nigerian Government has a scheme called the ‘National Youth Service Corps – NYSC’ which is a compulsory service program for all graduates AFTER tertiary education. In the same vein, when you are saved as a Child of God, you have not a year’s duty but a lifetime duty to bring others into the knowledge of Christ.
How do we do this? Our Verse for the day starts with Jesus telling us to “Go into the world…” The world is always waiting for us. It’s up to us to decide what response we’d give to the world. We could join them or bring people out of them – this is done by “preaching the gospel to every creature…” Going into the world should not be interpreted as a change of geographical locations, instead, it is the act of engaging the world, its people, its systems with the gospel of Christ.
Preaching is as much speaking as it is in acting. Telling people about Jesus matters, showing people about Jesus matters more. The Gospel is Jesus. Jesus is Love. It is that simple! If we demonstrated the love of God to everyone, we are easily telling everyone about God.
Is it all about what we say? No. It is not guaranteed that all we say would be accepted. In fact, there are people who won’t care about the Gospel and there are others who would believe it and be saved and others who wouldn’t and be condemned. However, this doesn’t permit us to pass judgment on them and leave them to chance. We must answer the call and spread the Gospel. It is God who magnifies the word we have sown in the hearts of people – of our own, we can save no man.
Telling people about Jesus matters, showing people about Jesus matters more. The Gospel is Jesus and Jesus is Love. If we demonstrated the love of God to everyone, we are easily telling everyone about Him.Click To Tweet
