Verse of the day
Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.
Are we chasing the right things? Are we fighting the right battles? Are we seeking the same things that Jesus has designed that we seek or are we busy chasing shadows?
The spiritual man is born and led of God. He is first alive in the spirit before he is in the flesh. His most critical interactions are spiritual and not carnal. Spiritual things are only spiritually discerned. The instructions, the revelations, the promises given are all spiritual. When we seek to interpret or pursue spiritual things from the faculties of the flesh, when we, having received a promise from the Father seek to interpret and accomplish it by our strength, we begin courting failure.
A fleshly person cannot discern the things of the spirit. He is blind to them. How then do we who are born by the Spirit live, worry, and fight like the spiritually blind?
We are not like Herod, who in the hope of having the baby Jesus killed ordered the death of all male children in Bethlehem from two years old and below, because he feared that Jesus would take his throne. Sadly, Jesus’ kingship, the throne which he was prepared for, had nothing to do with Herod’s? While Herod chased shadows, leading to the death and sorrow of many, Jesus was living for a heavenly kingdom. May we make choices that eventually bringing divine and lasting joy to many.
Beloved, do you interpret the promises of God for you to be merely earthly? Are you rightly discerning the Lord Jesus and all that He has given you? Focus and learn of Him. May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened.

The eyes of my understanding are enlightened by You, Father, to see as the Spirit sees, to discern rightly and to seek only the things You have purposed for me.
