Verse of the day.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the spirit of the Lord.
This verse has some striking pointers. “But we all, with open face…,” implies that there are those with “closed faces,” – those with veils on their faces.
Veils serve as a covering which could be used as a protection (positively) or a blindfold (negatively). Remember Moses’ encounter with God? After which a veil was used to cover his face due to the glory of God shining? If only the people on that day knew what they had missed out on by not beholding his glory directly (2 Corinthians 3:13). The subsequent phrase, “beholding in a glass, the glory of the Lord…” The Jews then were restricted to seeing the glory under a veil through the face of Moses but you and I, the new creation have direct access to the glory with our open faces!

Your conversion to Christianity is an exposition of the Glory of the Lord. It is the removal of the veil and subsequent revelation of God’s Glory in you. The veil of the world isn’t limited to the face, but it blinds the heart to understanding, thereby making it impossible for those with the veil to experience the liberty of the spirit of God.
The direct viewing of the glory of God causes us to be “changed into the same image…”, we are transformed into God’s image, that is, we seek to be like God – in righteousness, blessings, gifts and his glory, “from glory to glory…” that is, we continue to grow in the glory of the Lord, “even as by the Spirit of the Lord”, through the help of the Holy Spirit.
You are fresh off the boat of unrighteousness with the veil dumped in the sea of iniquities, you are now encouraged to grow in the Glory of the Lord as you are his revelation. Bask in it!
