Verse of the day
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
God wants you to be happy. He is a good God, why would He desire anything different? He wants you to daily find reasons to be thankful, to have good laughs, to live in constant joy. This is God’s desire for you, nothing else.
Every compulsion to live in sadness, fear, intimidation, uncertainty, depression is not of God. He is a good good Father and these are the very things He has delivered of us along with our sins. He doesn’t desire that you live in sickness or poverty but that you prosper in all things.
…just as your soul prospers
As a believer, you must not attempt to define prosperity in the same way the unbeliever does. Doing this would often result in some of the emotional and physical travails believers go through. You are a citizen of a different country, a part of a different kingdom, under the government of a different King, therefore your standard for measuring prosperity or success must differ.
Your soul can only be said to prosper when it grows in the knowledge, submission, and expression of the Life of God. Thus, to prosper as your soul prospers is to have God as the root and crown of your success and prosperity.
Your prosperity isn’t first about getting tangible results but in getting them by obeying the communal and individual instructions God gives to you.
And if you seem to be experiencing a season of test and trials that stem from your decision to abide in Him, wait patiently on the Lord, engage Him alone for your prosperity, and this season will work in and for you a present and an eternal weight of glory.
