Verse of the day
“So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
In football, the aim of the dribbles and activity is to ensure the ball is put into the net at the opposing goal post. The word of God is like the game of football. It is intentional and purposive, but unlike football, God’s word is not effective by chance. When God plants, He gets exactly what He intended to produce. He never misses, and whatever He desires must be accomplished.
God has a design and purpose for giving His Word to us. The intention of His Word is as distinct as His intention for sending rain upon the earth. Hence, the efficacy of God’s word is sure. It may not look like it immediately but we are confident in the power, accuracy, and intentionality of His word. His Word has integrity.
God has given us His children the message of the gospel to the world. We must tell it to the world. Gimmicks aren’t necessary. The gospel on its own is the power of God unto salvation. The gospel doesn’t go out in vain. It will always produce fruit. Just as we sometimes don’t know the end result of rain falling on a rock, we also might not see an immediate result of the gospel on a stony heart. Though the gospel may not now produce all the good effects which we may desire, it will be ultimately successful to the full wish of God’s enduring mercy; then the whole world will be filled with the knowledge and the love of God.

Father, I believe in the intentionality and efficacy of Your word; I know Your word is living, active and powerful. Your Word is sufficient for me. You say it, I believe and that settles it.
