Verse of the day
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
God is the Giver. It is His nature to give. He gave the first man life, and despite the fall gave His Son Jesus to again give us access to Him. In addition to all this, He daily loads us with good things: sunshine, the air we breathe, rain.
Every gift of God is good and perfect. This is not so because they leave us happy or pleasured. No. Whether His gifts come as commendation or correction, as provision or denial, God’s gifts are good and perfect.
When the scriptures refer to Him as the Father of lights, we, who have been recreated in Christ, make up a part of these “lights”, just as the scriptures affirm, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
As lights made in the image of our Father, it is in our very nature to give a good and perfect gift, just as He did. As we focus on Him and grow in consciousness of our nature as lights in the world, we realize that in giving, we do not give gifts primarily to make the recipient happy or pleased, we give gifts out of our very nature, the nature of God, the nature of Light, the nature of Love, even if it (initially) draws a frown. We give as Dad would have us give, gifts perfectly reflective of the loving nature of our Father.
Therefore beloved, grow in the consciousness of your nature as light and shine your light, loving people back to life. Words aren’t enough; let your silence, actions, and inactions also bear the healing touch of God.

May I daily love as You have loved me, give as You have given for me, and bring Life and Light to others as You have brought Life and Light to me.
