How May I Live Pure?

Day 205
Verse of the day

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

Psalm 119:9

This is a question that concerns everyone – young and old, male and female. Young people, especially, are prone to worldly passions and temptations. There is a constant war against our soul by the devil so we may be tempted or pressured towards sin and its passions. The blood of Jesus purges, cleanses and makes us pure at Salvation. How then do we live in practical holiness? How do we live pure?

Is it by our good deeds or moral standard?

NO! No moral standard can keep us pure but the Word. We can only live in practical holiness by focusing on the Truth and steering the courses of our life in His direction. The word of God is profitable for us in all seasons. It reveals the reality of who we are in Christ. The Word sets the standard of our life. We must be watchful and submit ourselves to God’s word.

God’s word keeps us on course on the path of righteousness and purity. It is our eternal guard and guide, helping us live pure in Christ.

We are in the world but not of the world. The world from which we are has a life. The practical directives on how to live this life are found written in His word as revealed by the Holy Spirit.

God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Every instruction, communication, doctrine, and correction should be guided by it. It is not enough to be watchful or to take heed but to do these according to His word.

Today’s Confession

Father, thank you for making us just as you are. Daddy, cause us to work and walk in the reality of your word that we may live in constant purity. Amen!
