Verse of the day
Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
The King’s business always requires urgency. God is the King.
We have all been tasked with the responsibility of spreading good tidings to all the ends of the earth. Like any other duty, there is the tendency to be at ease with its execution especially one where you can’t physically see the ‘Boss’. It’s a lot easier to make a 7 am business meeting than a 7 am church meeting. One seems to have immediate consequence and the other doesn’t.
Many a time, we forget that God isn’t tolerant to those who enjoy the ‘middle syndrome.’ We are not meant to ‘play it safe’ with the things of God. You really can’t be ‘chilled’ about a matter that involves others. It is His desire that souls are saved among many others and if we dilly dally in our responsibility that involves bringing the good news of Christ to others, how would they hear about it?
If you are not ‘burning for Christ’, there is no chance that the man or woman next door would feel the ‘flame’. If all we give off are sparks, it would not be enough to get the next person burning. God has called us to be His light here on earth and as light, there is the necessity to be up and doing about God’s business. We just can’t be lazy about it.
Our service to God requires commitment and effort. It also demands our passion. You can’t be doing God’s work without your heart being invested in it. It is not rocket science that we treat things we love with utmost importance. Genuine love for God requires that we are constantly agog for Him, that we are constantly thrilled about the things that concern His Kingdom, and to see His Kingdom established around us.
Love fills us with strength and having true love for God would give us the needed strength to do His work. It enables us to be fervent and encourages us to serve in moments when we grow weary.

Lord, please help me to be aflame for You. I receive strength to stay passionate about You and to spread Your love to others. Amen.
