Verse of the day:
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Peace looks like a man falling asleep amid a storm because He is well assured that His life belongs to the Father. It also looks like another man, Peter, who was soundly asleep right in jail – not worried about what would happen to him on the morrow but rest assured that Father was in control of surrounding circumstances. That force of peace residing inside a man due to the Holy Spirit’s indwelling is also what causes him to be at rest with his brothers and sisters, while yet joyfully praising Father in spite what goes on around him.
Now, it may be a tad bit difficult to adhere to this instruction because of the troubles that we experience from time to time. Often, believers are tempted with anxiety when their eyes and ears are filled with negative reports, or their thoughts are consumed by uncertainties. However, Jesus told us that as we continue to abide in Him, we will experience a supernatural kind of peace that transcends earthly circumstances – pleasurable or otherwise.
Beloved, let the peace of God that resides on your inside influence what goes on in your external atmosphere. Allow Father to lead you with His peace; do not be swayed by what’s temporal. Draw from that peace by continually giving thanks to Father and delighting in His word. It is His will for you to be filled with peace all the days of your life.
You are blessed!
