Verse of the day
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured heaven with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?
Often, we may be tempted to think that it is perfectly fine to live the type of life we choose, so long as we accord a generalized idea of God some form of reverence or avoid speaking negatively of Him. So, we believe in His existence, appreciate Him for the gift of life, and conclude that we have, to Him, paid our dues, and given Him a proper place in our lives. If we can say, “I believe in God. I thank Him for life, He blesses me, I bless others,” then we are made to believe that we have done just fine in not usurping the authority of God over our lives.
This is wrong. It is wrong to so passively give God counsel on how best to be served, it is wrong to teach Him how best to live for Him.
We do not elevate or grant ourselves the position of god in our lives by words alone; no, our actions often do a greater part of the talking.
“The fool says in his heart (and not mouth) that, ‘there is no God,'” and from the state of our hearts spring forth not just words, but all that we do. And if our life engagements fail don’t bear the fingerprint of God, we are living in total negation to His will, whether we praise Him, offer the proceeds of our labor to Him or not.
If you did not measure the waters in the hollow of your hands, measure heaven with a span, calculate the dust of the earth in a measure, weigh the mountains in scales, or give your infinitely faultless self to die for the sinful world, then you have no right being lord of your life, because even you do not own that life, neither the breath that you breathe.
Accept His complete lordship over your life today.

Jesus, I come to You in absolute surrender. I choose now to no more live for myself, but to live in submission to Your Lordship, now and ever. Amen.
