When Jesus Touches You, The First Thing You’ll Feel Is Love – Dayo

Then I realized again how beautiful God’s love is. A love so tender, so gentle and beautiful. I sometimes fear the dark but this was different. I just stayed there and enjoyed God as we fellowshipped together.

Hello, my name is Dayo. I don’t really consider this my most intimate moment with Jesus but have chosen to share this with you nonetheless. Hopefully, in the near future, I’ll share what I consider my most intimate moment with Jesus.

If you have anything to do with writing, then you have an idea of how challenging it can be to reach out to people through words. More challenging is writing about God because in such a case you don’t just reach out, you serve as a channel between Him and your readers

Writing about God is a lot like ministering to people. So, when I write about Him, I am not just writing, I’m rather giving out what I have received or am receiving from Him.

A few days ago, I had to write a piece, taking inspiration from the Bible – I had a verse to draw my writing from. In such situations, I need to be as dependent on God as I can be just so I can receive and give as purely as I can.

So, I did the usual and tried to listen and meditate on the verse before writing. While meditating, I fell asleep. Then I had a dream. It wasn’t really a dream. It was something more, a trance maybe. I can’t adequately describe it. It had to do with what I was to write about when I woke.

At the end of the experience, I felt a gentle tap on my knee as if to wake me up. I was the only one in the room. It was so weird. I woke up slightly afraid because I FELT I should be afraid. But deep down, I KNEW it wasn’t something to be afraid of. It felt so tender, so warm and so gentle. I don’t even know how to explain it. It was the gentlest touch ever, that I can say. And it wasn’t my imagination.

Afterward, I just stayed awake, wrote, prayed and all that. I still wasn’t sure what to make of it. But I know it wasn’t a dream. It wasn’t my imagination. It had to be God. It was too gentle to be any other. It felt quite beautiful and left me with a lot of convictions.

After the experience, I had more strength to write: the words just flowed and blessed me too. And personally, God showed me how I needed to stand and fight some wars I’d been taking for granted.

Then I realized again how beautiful God’s love is. A love so tender, so gentle and beautiful. I sometimes fear the dark but this was different. I just stayed there and enjoyed God as we fellowshipped together.

It felt like…love, even now that I think about it. I guess that’s the first thing we feel when Jesus touches us.

After the experience, I just went, “I want more”. But the knowledge it brought was a lot on its own.

And you know what made it more beautiful? It was the fact that I literally did nothing to make this happen. It wasn’t even something I was looking out for or asking for. It just happened. This showed me a bit of how willing God is to lavish His love and presence on us if only we can be open to receive.

He is available to everyone, even you.
