Passing the Baton

Day 263
Verse of the day

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

John 20:21

One of my favorite athletics events is the relay race. It is a sport that involves a lot of teamwork and trust. It depends on your other partners to see the race out.

Do you know that Jesus sees us as friends and partners, not slaves? This means we are in a relationship where together with Jesus, we work towards a common goal.

When God sent Jesus, He did that commissioning a task to draw all men unto Him. Jesus finished His lap on earth and has passed the baton unto His friends, His partners to continue in propagating the gospel unto all ends of the earth.

One important thing to understand is while God is Omnipresent; Jesus could only physically be at one place at a time; therefore, when He was leaving, He gave the billions of us on earth the charge to be everywhere drawing all men unto Him just as He had done. The best part of this piece is that Jesus didn’t hand us the baton without any guide – He left us with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is everywhere at every time. He is with you right now at this moment. As you read this, He is with you, laying soft whispers of assurances into your ears telling you that you are not alone in this race. There are a billion others running this same lap as Jesus has handed all of us the baton.

Athletes are well equipped to run the complete haul, even those who come in the 8th position are well equipped. The most important to note here is that they finished the race. To finish this race, diligence, integrity is required of you.

Friends, we are on a race where we can’t give up or give in. We need to spread Christ’s Love, Life, and Light until the whole world hears.

God’s Grace be with you.
