Push The Limits

Day 322
Verse Of The Day

And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

Matthew 14:28

If you, like the disciples, saw Jesus when He walked on water, how would you react? Would you, like Peter, immediately ask to do the same or would you be rational about it? Only Jesus can walk on water, I can’t. Gravity will work against me. So why ask? How often do we reject the things that have been freely given to us by sticking with what is generally acceptable?

Peter may not have been the brightest disciple, but often, he exuded a degree of abandon that’s worth emulating. None of the other disciples asked to walk on water, or none asked early enough.

While they shook with fear after having seen Jesus do what was only natural to Him, Peter seized the moment: “if it is you, command me to come…”

If we must push the limits in our experiences with God, if we must exceed common manmade boundaries, our faith must be anchored on these issues: “Is it the Lord? Has the Lord done it? Has He revealed it?” If yes, then desire it.

There is nothing Jesus became that we cannot become. There is nothing He did that we cannot do. There is nothing revealed that we cannot experience. The Bible isn’t a fictional story book, it must be experienced.

We must cease being too rational with God but, on the contrary, live in constant expectation of the supernatural, beginning with the end of our salvation.

Never refer to yourself as a sinner or one who ‘struggles with sin’ when He calls you saint. Neither offer the lip service of being Jesus’s brother and sharing one Father with Him, only to deny being made in His image.

Push the limits, break out of the mold, step out in faith, exceed the boundaries, seek to experience all that you have in God and He will show you how much He approves of your actions… with results.

There is nothing Jesus became that we cannot become. There is nothing He did that we cannot do. There is nothing revealed that we cannot experience. The Bible isn’t a storybook, it must be experienced.Click to Tweet

Today’s Confession

Daddy, help me to understand that as much as we live in communities, my journey in You is individual. May I soon understand all that You have provided for me, and seek to experience them all without holding back.

  1. Glory! If Jesus did it, then we can do it too. In fact, he said that we, who believe in him, will do the works he was doing and even greater works.
