Verse of the day
They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of your house and you give them drink from the river of your pleasures.
All that I want is in Jesus; He satisfies, joy He supplies; life would be worthless without Him; all things in Jesus I find.
The lyrics of this song testify of one who has found satisfaction in Christ Jesus and needs or wants nothing else but Him. We are always in pursuit of satisfaction. There is a constant vacuum in us to be filled which causes us to chase after things with a potential to fill that vacuum. Often we seek this satisfaction in things – marriage, career, fame, wealth, position, power and so on – with the mind that these would satisfy, only to find after each accomplishment that we were wrong. We eventually realize that our wants are insatiable and the more we accomplish our goals, the less satisfied we are because we are opened up to more.
Only the Almighty God, the owner of all, has everything it takes to satisfy our spirit, soul, and body. Through Christ, He has given us ALL THINGS that pertain to life and godliness, such that when we know Jesus, we have all we need (2 Peter 1:3).
When you are hungry, you eat food. You can have a drink when you are thirsty too. Jesus has been given to us as both food and drink. We are to eat and drink of Him until we are filled and overflowing, engrossed in Him, overwhelmed by His love, know Him intimately, love Him passionately and stay perfect in His will. Jesus is inexhaustible. We can never have enough of Him. We should therefore never stop eating and drinking of Him. It is in doing this that we experience the fullness of His joy, peace, love, virtue, grace, wisdom, delight and everlasting pleasures.
We could have Jesus and still be empty of Him if we have not received of all that has been given to us in Him.

Dear Father, I’ll never seek satisfaction outside of you because there is none outside of you. I’ll keep eating and drinking of Your Son (Jesus) until I am full and satisfied in Him.
