Verse of the day
Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing —and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—
God loves us so much and has made us be dissatisfied when we lack measures of Him. In His perfect design, we can only find true satisfaction in Him. He delights in us when we delight in Him. He desires to be our food when we are hungry, to be the covering that keeps us from being naked and exposed, our shelter from troubled winds, our anchor in life’s ocean, our guide through life, our best friend. This is the desire and plan of God for us.
When we choose to keep from finding our sufficiency in God, when we choose to be self-sufficient, we cease to delight and satisfy Him. God cannot be satisfied in us when we aren’t satisfied in Him. He is most satisfied in us when we are satisfied in Him.
It is the belief that “I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” the attitude of self-sufficiency and satisfaction that positions a person as a lukewarm drink to God, a drink that is of no use to Him for drinking but to be vomited.
God has designed us to always be in need of Him. When we lack or lose that and become full of self and accomplishments, we become of no good to Him.
May we never lose our wonder and may we never cease to bring Him satisfaction.

Daddy, may I never become boastful and self-sufficient. May I ever find my sufficiency in You. I will satisfy your thirst and be a delightful drink to your taste. So help me.
