Verse of the day
Oh Lord our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth, who have set your glory in all the earth.
All creation originated from God; there is nothing that exists that was not firstly designed by God to be a medium to display His glory. Thus, the Psalmist sings of Him saying; “the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.” This is the essence of creation; that every single created entity reveals an aspect of God’s character and pulsates with the very life of God, with Man being the crown of it all.
God delights in man as one especially made in His very own image. Crowned with glory and honour, man was made to have dominion over all other creatures and express fully God’s glory through His being. However, after succumbing to iniquity, his capacity to fully express this glory was hampered and he experienced spiritual death. The fall of man did not only affect man, the ripple effect of his actions was felt across all creation.
Still, God did not give up on man. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, and faith in Christ as the Saviour of the world, man can now be born again and receive life! In Christ, humanity can now express in fullness God’s glory. Not only does the salvation of man affect man, the Bible records that the manifestation of the sons of God is crucial to creation’s redemption too that the glory of God may be displayed in all of creation.
Beloved, do you see this? Eventually, it all points back to Father. He is beautiful and glorious – this beauty and glory are what He desires to be made manifest through your being, and in this, He is glorified! Therefore, you should not forget that you were designed to showcase Abba’s beauty, excellence, and wisdom through your abiding in Christ. In doing this, not only would you be revealing Father’s nature, but you will also affect creation as a whole. The Psalmist sings of Him saying; “the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.” This is the essence of creation; that every single created entity reveals an aspect of God’s character.

Father, I know I am like You, help me to remember that You are the source of my identity and in doing this, may I continue to bring glory to Your name.
