Verse of the day.
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.
God has promised to shake the heavens and the earth. His intention for doing this is so that only those things which cannot be shaken will remain.
The heavens and earth were created by God and yet, He is not hesitant to get rid of everything in them that has been corrupted. His intention for creation was not to have it pass away but that it will last forever. However, sin came into the world with its corruptive consequences. This was why Christ brought redemption.
An Unshaken Kingdom
With Christ’s death and resurrection, however, comes judgment for man and all that is in the heavens and earth. This judgment is salvation for those who believe.
Our text for today says, “Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable” It is important to note the use of “receiving” here. It means that this unshakable kingdom is not one “we will receive” but a kingdom we are receiving. This has two implications for us:
Oh, what joy it is that we are receiving a kingdom that is unshakable, one that will stand the test of time and judgment. If only our eyes would be opened to see the glory God had prepared for us, we would brim with unceasing joy.
You will be shaken
Receiving a kingdom that will not be shaken means that we also must be unshakable. It means that God wants to bring us to a place where all that is in our soul is unshakable: all of Him and nothing of this passing world. He wants to establish us in a life of worship, awe, and holy fear. He wants to rid us of the lusts of the world that pass away. And it is as we do God’s will and walk in His holy fear through our thankfulness and joy that God establishes us.
So when it seems as though life as you know it is being shaken, God could just be lovingly shaking off the temporary from your soul. This is so that you may stand steady and unshaken, as a pillar and as His Kingdom that lives in you.

Lord, thank You for making me partake of Your glorious kingdom. Help me become unshakable. Teach me to walk in awe and holy fear of You.
