Verse of the day
I beseech you,
therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service
The Old covenant contains in it numerous sacrifices for atonement and worship which in Christ have been paid except that which requires a willing offering of ourselves in worship. While He walked the earth, Jesus showed us the place of worship as an inner experience, a life of being delighted in and devoted to God. So, giving ourselves as a living sacrifice to worship God easily means being satisfied in Himand cherishing Him as gain. He is magnified when we cherish Him above all.
God serves us by giving us life and breath and all of Himself. We reciprocate first and foremost by thirsting after Him above all things. We must get up in the morning with
And like pastor John Piper once said about spiritual worship, giving our lives to Christ entails coming to God each day, saying: “O God, there is nothing that I want more than to approve what is most worthy, and value what is most valuable, and treasure what is most precious and admire what is most beautiful and hate what is most evil and abhor what is most ugly. I reckon myself dead to all that is unspiritual and worldly and deadening to my soul. Renew me, O my God. Awaken spiritual capacities of right assessment.”

Take me, body and soul, and make me the instrument of your glory in the world. Let the renewal you are working from within show on the outside. To show the world that you are my all-satisfying treasure.
